This guided walk through authentic Anatolian villages includes a knowledgeable local guide fluent in English and Turkish, a traditional welcome tea with a host family, entrance fees to a preserved Ottoman-era stone house, a handwritten route map, and a light seasonal tasting of regional produce. Water and a small snack pack are provided. Group size is capped at 10 to preserve the intimacy of the experience.
I was born and raised in a small village outside Cappadocia, where my grandfather spent his evenings telling stories about the Ottoman families who once lived in our stone house. That early world shaped everything. After studying history and cultural tourism in Ankara, I returned to rural Anatolia to do what no textbook could — walk visitors through communities that are still living these traditions. For the past eleven years, I have been guiding small groups through village lanes, introducing them to families, craftspeople, and landscapes most travellers never find. This walk is not a performance of the past. It is the past, still breathing.
